The ecm on this van is fried. If I get a used ecm with the same service number four letter code number etc. Will it work without anything done to it?

No, it needs to be flashed. It may or may not take the flash as it is set up for another vehicle.

I would replace it with a new one and get it flashed

if the old one fried, as you say, make sure you find the reason or you will fry the replacement as well.

I took the original ecm apart and found the seal leaked. Found a resistor totally gone. So a used one is out of the question. Have to purchase a rebuilt ecm programmed for my vehicle. Thank you! You saved me extra money buying a used ecm that wont work.
