Low oil light stays on even when oil is full. What is the most likely problem/s? Where are they located and how do I fix them?

Either the engine oil level switch is defective, or the grounded side of the switch is open. A quick way to check it, next time the oil level low warning comes on, disconnect the wiring connector at the switch on the front side of oil pan under the starter then jumper pin A to ground. The warning should go off. If it does not go off the switch is bad.

If it does go off then check resistance from pin B to ground, it should be very low to none.

I have a 2002 Buick Regal LS with 96000 miles, and a 3.8L Series II engine. The Change Oil Soon warning light started coming on as soon as I start the car and stays on for approximately 35 seconds, then goes off. I do not need to change my oil for another 1522 miles. I tried resetting it by turning the key to the "run" position and pressing the accelerator 3 times, however the Change Oil Light never started blinking. Anybody know how I can fix this?

I have a 1998 Buick that has to be reset the same way. Read the owners manual & make sure you are
pressing the accelerator pedal 3 times within the time limit it states or it won't work. I found this out
when I changed the oil in my car myself. It is supposed to be reset each time the oil is changed.
Hope this helps. I remember trying several time before getting the timing right to make the light flash.

Make sure it has oil. Rent or borrow an oil pressure gauge and install it where the oil pressure sending unit goes. Make sure you have oil pressure.

The low oil light on my 1998 Buick Regal started coming on at 90,000 miles. I have check the oil and the level is fine. It runs at normal temperature and there are no other indications that anything is wrong with the car. I had a similar problem with the check engine light at 60,000 miles and was able to make that go away by preforming a combination of turning the car on and off while pressing other buttons. Is there a reset proceedure to turn this light off?

There is a oil level switch the may be going bad. It is located in the oil pan. I would check that out first.
