Most of the time when you experience car slips on the road it is all about your car wheels. There are some wheels which are not capable of giving a firm grip especially on wet terrain.

You need to get tires that are made to drive in any terrain, such as off-road tires. These will maintain traction even when there is snow. They are also self cleaning and the snow do not stick into the tire. Therefore it is not easy to slip. This is very important for your safety especially on snowing nights.
