My VW GT tdi mk4 I keep getting air in the clear diesel tube after standing a few days? The car starts and then stops straight away then won't fire up at all?

There is a minute leak in the fuel delivery or return system and when this occurs, air would get into the system and cause the problems indicated.

Check the fuel delivery and return system for leaks.
