Toyota Camry Air bag Problem
Can the passenger airbag deploy upon impact with no passenger? Driver side airbag deployed as well as passenger, after hitting a curb at 40mph. There was no damage done to the front right side of the vehicle. Only front left wheel and fender.

yes it can. did it have a switch for the passenger air bag to be shut off???

If it did, I was not aware of it. I know that newer model Camrys have sensors in the seat for passenger airbags. Wasn't sure if the older models did too. But I was curious because there was no passenger and it deployed. Is this worth fixing? Being that it's an older model Camry?

What I meant was, financially is it worth fixing. I was told that the repair costs can exceed the amount of what the car is worth. I appreciate your insight, Roy.

98 camary, worth about 4 to 4500.
repair about 1500-1800. once again. personal choice.
