I have a 1998 gt legacy, the check engine light will come on randomly then go off, then when I changed down to 4th gear an accelerated the light came on again, and I put my foot down and it started missing, what could the problem be?/

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on.
