Wanted to check the Dist cap for damage plus the ht leads thought I marked them for correct replacement but car now starts and runs very rough. Have I replaced the leads in Wrong position.
The cap has a 1 which I assumed to be plug one and worked clockwise from there.

Please can you let me know the correct lead postions

Thanks for the Help, I have replaced the HT leads, the Dizzy cap and the Rotor arm. Engine still running rough not enough power to actually drive and cuts out on idle. A neighbour says it could be a Cylinder not firing. How do I check and what can I do to repair?
Thanks.

Have the engine compression tested for a start.

Did you check the spark plugs?

Remove all the spark plugs and lay them out according to the cylinders. Note if any is different from the others, in terms of color and carbon deposit, if any.

Have the ignition timing checked and valve clearances adjusted.

Repair would depend on what needs to be done.
