Just lost my job.98 Pontiac Grand Am car running ok then quit on the road and would not restart.

98 pontiac grand am; quad-4; 250,000 mi; 160,000 0n 2nd engine; car running ok then quit on the road. And would not restart. Fuel pressure good. Spark seems good; compression 60,120, 85, 75. Put in new plugs car started but ran rough and catalytic converter was glowing red hot. 2nd compression check 115, 125, 120, 115.

Did you do the compression test with the throttle wide open and cranked the engine over ten times for each cylinder?

How did you check the fuel pressure? Did you use a gauge or the eye ball/finger method-

Throttle wide open gives more air-2nd readings is this the wet test
