I've got a 1998 Oldmobile Intrigue with 130k miles. The front end shakes and shimmys at highway speeds. The wheels have been rotated and balanced. I'm trying to figure out if it could be the CV axles, wheel bearings (if any) or even the transmission.

Thanks Docfixit, the steering wheel does shake and the car feels like it's "skating" a bit. I don't feel it upon acceleration or coast. I haven't thought about putting it in neutral - I'll try that. If it goes away it could be CV joints, if it stays it could be tires/wheels? Are there separate wheel bearings or are they build into the CV joint? Thanks!
