No low Beams on Mercury Mountaineer

1998 Mercury mountaineer. I have a similar problem to one that has been asked about before. My low beam headlights do not work, but the highs will. You mentioned before about "playing with the high beam switch" to make the low lights come on, and this has worked for me in the past, but now I get nothing. All other lights are in working order, but no headlights. Please help!!!
Thanks

most common to be the combination switch

Thanks! Im seeing average price of $20 for replacement switch, is this sound right? Is this fairly simple to swap out?
