I noticed when I turn my car off I can still hear the pump running it sounds like a humming. What causes that?

Are you sure it is the fuel pump? It coud be something else, usually the cooling fans continues to work intermittently when engine is turned off, at least until the cooling fan switch is deactivted when the coolant temperature drops to a certain level.
