1998 gmc truck hard to start when cold or sitting for hours

when was last tune up? how cold is it? are you using premium gas?

30,000 ago, 35 to 60deg f , using reg unleaded. I suspect fuel system or evap system. Have no driveability after start. drive 20 miles one way.

You could be losing fuel pressure -check the actual fuel pressure with a gauge if its within specs-if okay test the coolant temperature sensor also clean out the idle air control valve and see what happens-

I just replaced coolant temp sensor. will check fuel pressure tomorro and try to clean iac valve. thanks for the help.
