Changing brake pads and c clamping piston back in caliper

Hello, I will be changing brake pads on all four wheels. Do I take off cap of brake fluid reservoir in order to c-clamp piston into caliper to fit new pads? After installing pads, do I pump brakes for each individual side I do, or wait until I finish all 4 sides to pump brakes? Does the car need to be on when pumping brakes? Thanks.

Removing the cap does it allow air so I would have to bleed brakes? Thanks.
