1998 Ford Mustang how often should I change the fuel filter

1998 Ford Mustang mileage: 33,000.I've looked in my service-maintenance manual and nowhere does it mention when to change the fuel filter. Could you please tell me when or does it ever need replacement. Thank You.

The fuel filter is normally changed at the time of tune-up, the timing being whatever the manufacturer recommends.

I see the manufacturer has no recommended interval for that. It really depends a lot on the quality of the fuel that you're buying. It only takes one tank of contaminated fuel to trash the filter. I like to change them around 30K intervals to be safe.
