I am giving you a walk through diagnostic for your issue. You might have a bad fuel pressure regulator or the crankshaft timing pickup may be bad.
Look through this diagnostic and get back to me with any questions.

Is it possible I have bad spark plug wires? Because I put a different spark plug in the one wire and tried to start it but the spark plug wasn't even sparking?

Yes. If other plugs have spark the plug wire could be bad. If you have a multi-meter you can test the wire for continuity. If you get new plug wires it is worth getting good ones as the good ones have less resistance and get more energy to the plug for a hotter spark.
