How do I remove the right rear axle

1998 ford f-150 right rear axle , 2 wheel drive club cab. how do i remove the right rear axle and what else should be done while its apart. it was in an accident and appears to be bent.

Hi,

Replacing the axle on this vehicle will require the draining and removal of the rear differential gear oil and cover. Once that is removed, the procedure is not hard. You will also need to safely lift the rear of the vehicle off the ground prior to performing the procedure and remove both the wheels and brake drums.

In addition, this is a good time to replace the axle bearing and seal.
