CRUISE CONTROL

1998 Ford Explorer • 158,000 miles

Cruise control stays engaged for less then 5 minutes then shuts off. Replaced CC brake switch, Swapped CC servo from a 99 Explorer, CC switches on steering wheel are 6 months old. And passes the the CC self testing. Also replaced CC cable. Same results.

Check ground at right rear fender then get it scanned it may be the module/amplifier that is screwing up or possibly the clock spring in steering wheel.

Dear Sir: in reference to the clock spring in the steering wheel, wouldn't the horn not work and possibly the abs light be on. Also on this model there is no CC amp.

No the clock spring doesnt' effect those. The amplifier is on engine at rear, it's part of the servo.
