1998 Ford Expedition Repair Question

Ford Expedition Clutch Problem
I have a 98 ford expedition sometimes when its put into drive the trans won't engage right away.it intermittent and doesn't happen often.but.it did it to me twice this weekend and it took a little for it to engage. my mechanic flushed it and cleaned the screens. he says the trans is fine but its still doing it today.what is the problem and do i need a new trans?

its not fine. it sounds like there is bad seals in the front clutch. it will have to come out and be inspected.
