Is it necessary to mark position of flexplate when removing engine to replace it with the same engine from a different truck? Engine is 5.2 from 98 dodge ram 1500 2 wheel drive mine is 5.2 98 dodge ram 1500 4x4 both are automatics.

No, you don't have to. If it really has to go into a specific position, the bolt pattern will determine that.
