Today I got a little frustrated and slammed my truck door a little too hard. When I did so, I broke the manual door lock that sticks out the top of the door panel. I have a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with no power locks or windows, all manually done. I have found the broken piece location. I was just wonderng how I could go about fixing this. I'm not sure if we need to take the whole locking mechanism off or what we need to do. Can you please help?

A plastic clip probably just cracked and let the linkage rod fall out of the hole in the middle of it. Most of those clips are the same. Use one finger to unsnap it from the rod, the swivel it out of the way and pull the rod out. Squeeze the center part to pop it out, then transplant it to your truck
