I have a 98 chevy s10 I took into SHOP to get oil leak found and repaired. This was a month ago they have fired the guy that was first working on it. At first it was the oil pan gasket they said theyd have to take the engine out for this and I should replace other seals while out. Front end cover and crank seal. They did this got the truck back took it maybe 1 mile it was knocking the closer back I got the louder it got, it was the bearings in engine they said they fix it. Got it back again still had a knock or noise? They took it to the back said they thought it was the lifters or rockers.
replaced them all from my understanding, now today they call said still got a noise so now they want to replace my engine with one from parts unlimited?
what should I do im out 1700.00. And a broke engine
do I say yes and get one that is just as bad shape as mine was it would only cost them 700.00 I would only get a 90 day warrenty on the motor

How was the truck running prior to taking it to the shop, was the truck knocking before you took it to the shop?

Then you can put that picture together, something went wrong at that shop and you need to find out. What explanation did they give for the engine knocking after the engine repair, when you drove it there not knocking?

T said it was left on the rack for 4 days, and my son said they had to start it without oil? My question is how do I handle this I would rather get a rebuilt motor than a low milage one? Do I just go in there and tell them they need to pay the bill on another shop to replace my engine with one of there rebuilt ones or let them replace and pay for the rebuilt one I really dont trust them now but dont wont to rock the boat too the extrem either. I have gave them 1600 I already got a price for 1995. This will give me a 3year warrenty or 36000 miles also like I said they have had it for a month now? What is far

If they fired the guy they KNOWhe did something wrong. Have them repair/replace the engine plain and simple they screwed it up so they can fix it. As long as it doesn't cost YOU money. If they are unwilling, then take it to another shop, get it fixed thensue them.
