You can bypass the switch with a jumper. Manual and auto transmission has different switches and method of bypassing.

Thanks for this answer! My 04 keeps having issues and not starting because the neutral safety switch keeps glitching or I am thinking it may possibly be a computer issue. But either way have to rock the dang thing and then throw it in park to get it unstuck. Hoping your answer helps! Thanks again!

The PNP is either bad or out of adjustment. You can try adjusting the switch first. Ensure the gear shift cable and its connections/linkages are good.

Nest time try starting in N if P don't work.
