Chevrolet Lumina Thermostat Problem

How do I change the thermostat? It heats up then drops back to normal when I got home I looked and the hoses were all sucked in and the fluid was all in the overflow.

Greetings

Partially drain the coolant then remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Remove the air pipe and loosen the clamp from the tstat housing. Disconnect the radiator hose from the housing. Remove the housing bolts and pull out the tstat housing and gasket. Remove the thermostat. Be sure to clean the mating surfaces prior to installation of the new tstat.
