I am having trouble removing the engine oil cooler line from a chevy . the space is too tight...any suggestions?

I GOT THE LINE ALL LOOSE AND READY TO COME OUT, BUT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH ROOM BETWEEN THE FRAME AND FRONT AXLE.

I have the car itself jacked up. The google instructions say to first remove the steering linkage shield. I don't know where that is at and i can't see how it would help me get that part out.
