Buick Regal Dimmer switch Problem

When the lights are switched from high beam to low beam, or from low beam to high beam the lights go out. This does not happen all of the time just periodically. What could the problem be? This is a good car other wise.
Thanks for your help.

Have to check your dimmer switch and wiring circuit, when problem is ongoing. Voltage to your headlamps is hot all the time. The headlamps are controlled on the ground circuit. The dimmer switch is part of ground circuit. Intermittent issues can be a pain to track down?
