Toyota Corolla Alternator Problem
I had an assessment on alternators the other day I completed the practical but on the theory a question popped up saying what cable on an alternator remains live even when the ignition is off? I cant find the answer anywhere can you help please

the heavy red wire to the back. it is 12 volts all the time
