1997 Saturn SL2 Repair Question

Saturn SL2 Gas Problem
REPLACED HEAD GASKET AND EVERYTHING ELSE,TORQUE IS GOOD,FLUSHED COOLING SYSTEM. RUNS GREAT BUT WHITE SMOKE SHOWS AT IDLE. THE HEAD WAS IN GOOD SHAPE WHEN I BOUGHT IT AND BOUGHT ENTIRE GASKET SET ETC. ANY THOUGHTS???

Did you torque the head 22ftlbs then 33ftlbs then 90 degrees?Also you should have had the head pressure tested and check for warpage when you installed it So. Does. The smoke go away when giving it gas?
