1997 Plymouth Voyager 3.0

I have a 1997 Plymouth Voyager. Some times when I start it runs rough. After I drive a few miles, it stops. Feels like its sputtering when it's having a problem. I think it's an exhasut problem. Maybe catalytic converter or some type sensor. What do you think it is.

"After I drive a few miles, it stops" What stops, the engine or the sputtering? Typically a plugged converter will cause an unusually smooth idle and a hiss from the tail pipe. It won't be intermittent either. Has the Check Engine light turned on?
