It started when I accelerate, engine goes off.I complained to my mechanic and I was told its fuel pump problem, later the display screen on the dashboard showed "risk of ice" but I ignored it since I live in a tropical country in west Africa. Days later, I heard rattling sound and my timing belt snapped.I ve since replaced the timing belt and all bent valves also serviced the fuel pump but the car wont start. Does the ice have anything to do with these problems or is it something else. Please help.

I would be checking for any set fault codes, the ice message is interesting indeed, possibly it is tied in with the climate control, do you have an external temp reading on the dash, if so is it working correctly. This will have no bearing on the cause of the timing belt failure.
