I have a 1997 Nissan Sentra GXE, It starts idles, but shuts off after 2 to 3 minutes and will not start again. I have replaced the battery, spark plugs, distributor, fuel filter, some compressor thingy, and had a tune up done by so called professionals just a few days ago, why does it just shut off in mid drive and won't stay started? There are no leaks, or smoking, no shaking, or bucking no sounds just cuts off and the inside lights all come on.It does slow down to a crawl when you turn on the air conditioning system. Hmmm?

When engine stalled and cannot be restarted, are you able to crank the engine?
Have you checked the alternator charging rate?
Did problem start before or after the work done?
Is the Check Engine ight indicating?

The engine will crank and turn over but not stay started. No have not checked alternator charging rate (what ever that is). Problem started after work done on car, and NO the check engine light has not come on prior to or since this has happened.

This is not a problem with the charging system so forget about the alternator first.

Recheck the work done, something had not be reinstalled/reconnected correctly or during the work, some component had been damaged/affected.

Thanks a lot, you confirmed my suspicions in that regard. I will have someone do do that.
