1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse starting problems

I was working on my car door changing the handle and water hit a live wire that was exposed and now it will not start and certain devices wont work in the car either now at first it made a weird sound but after it made the sound it does nothing now just flashes the srs light and the cruise comes on, the check battery light and brake light but all go off after a minute of being on.

Water? What were you doing with water?

It must have hit more than just a bare wire. It would not have bothered a wire. You must have gotten a module wet somewhere.

The kids that lives in the apartment above me was squrting everything with a water gun. Anyway I am not sure all I know is the only wire exsposed was the one that connects to the door panel and it got wet that's when it started acting funny
