The check engine light comes on in my 97 Kia sportage,when I try to retreive the code with my scan tool/code reader it says no current or pending codes but when I choose to clear all codes the engine light goes off and it does show freeze frame data for a failure before I clear the "codes" is this more of a tool failure or a new and exciting problem with my car?
