1997 Jeep TJ starting up

when i go to start my jeep it aks like it is going to start. i stop and try it again and then it starts. what could cause this? thanks

fuel pressure....check fuel pump

I have a 1997 Jeep but it has a 4 cyl. it was starting hard I found that their is a fuel filter regulator on top of the gas tank I changed that and it fixed the trouble and it starts right up.fuel filter regulator is 100.00 dollars.
