What is making my 1997 Jeep grand cherokee go dead? It starts very good and goes dead immediately. I thought it might be the fuel pump but if I start the engine with accelerator all the way down it revs up and then goes dead again. No matter if I keep patting on the gas. Anything?

Fuel pressure okay-get a wire and put an inline fuse in it-hook one end of the wire to the battery positive terminal and other end to the coil positive terminal -if it continues to run-the primary ignition circuit from the ignition switch to coil terminal is open or like fixitmr said could be the ignition switch itself-Good Luck
