1997 Jeep Cherokee Repair Question

Jeep Cherokee Wheel Problem
Drove vehicle in 4WD and made a right turn, it felt like the front driver side tire was going to fall off. Put it in 2WD and it doesn't feel like that, but only a little.

If you have universal joints next to each front wheel, not cv joints, suspect one is tight and binding. Twice per wheel revolution that will tug the steering wheel back toward center.
