Hello,
I am removing a manual transmission from the vehicle stated above. I have all of the bell housing bolts removed, cv shafts and mounts. The trans will only separate approx 1/4 inch away from engine block. Is there anything else that must be removed?

Hi Kitt82,

If it can move 1/4 inch all round, there is nothing more you need to remove, just that the clutch is sticking on the clutch shaft or the pilot bearing/bush is stuck on the clutch shaft. Here is a video of a FWD transmission being removed and clutch replaced in a similar car the process is the same with diagrams below to show you how on your car.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Any help would be greatly apprec I have removed and rebuilt this transmission and reinstalled and having that being said I do not have 2nd or 4th this is a AT 1.8L 4cyl. Looking for a diagram. I obviously forgot something somewhere. Thinking as a pulled apart I could remember where everything went. I can say this nest time I am definatly writing what I pull and where is goes when rebuilding one of these. I am in desperate need of your help. Thank You Kindly. Abby

This particular car does not give a blowup of the trans each is set by clutch paks, etc. I wold recheck the valve body though for either a soleonoid not working or valve stuck, torn gasket steel ball in wrong position etc. If you air checked all your clutches prior to installation then i'd say your problem is in govenor or valve body.
