1997 Hyundai Accent Repair Question

Using 4th gear, because of bad 5th gear
My Accent has a bad 5th gear, so I can only shift into 4th gear and use it as my highest gear.How bad is it to run it in 4th gear, and what are my rpms if I drive it 70 mph?

What are your rpms at 70 mph in 4th gear do you have a tach?I would get a used tranny and put it in.

Ensure you have sufficient gear oil. Driving in 4th is not a problem but the gas mileage would be affectd. 5th is an overdrive gear.
At 70 mph, the engine would most likely to be operating at 3500 compared to 3000 in 5th gear.

Btw 5th gear repair is possible without transmission removal. Removing the rear cover would allow you to perform repairs.
