Recently my 1997 Honda Accord SE was running very rough on my home from work. It seemed as if was going to die when I press on the gas. I was lucky enough to get the car home, but once I got it home and turned it off it will not start. It will crank over and seems as if it wants to start but won't. I replaced the IAC valve and cleaned up the throttle body and intake, and I still have the same issue. I was thinking fuel filter but not sure, and I'm hoping some has another option or idea because changing this fuel filter will be a huge pain the @ss. Plugs are brand new along with the wires. Cap and rotor are about a year old and have never changed the coil. I also smell gas after I crank the car over a few times. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

If the fuel filter has more than 60,000 miles on it it needs to be replaced. After that you might also check the fuel pressure to make sure that the pump is putting out the correct pressure.
