my car 's engine does not shut off even after removing key from car. I used my remote starter to start the car this morning. Please help

It could be a fault with the remote starter control unit or ignition switch.
Unplug the ignition switch wire behind the ignition/steering lock and if engine still does not turn off, the fault lies with the remote starter control unit.
Unplug the control unit to test if engine stops running.

The problem was with the remote starter unit, once I disconnected it, it worked.
