Atempted auto theft. They broke the ignition lock and the part around the ignition that reads the chip in the key and sends it to the computer. The anti-theft maganizam, I think it's called. My question is,can a locksmith fix it or do I have to take it to the Ford House? I replaced the anti-theft maganizam with identicall part from a wrecking yard. When I pluged it in the car won't do nothing. I unplug it the car will start, run for about two seconds then dies. Please Advise.

This is a key reader it will not read your key, a dealer will be able to do a re code and test the rest of the system.

a good general mechanic with top range diagnostics's can do it, but the dealer is sure to get it done correctly and quickly, i would go to a dealer for this work if you have no local mechanic with this experience.
