rpm's are high and sounds bad 4x4 4.6 motor fivespeed

I got my clutch replaced the other day and got it back and it wont go over 40 mph it feels as if it is in 4low range and my speedo is not correct i called ford and they said it sounds like my linkage is not connected but it is and only the back wheels spin even if you change it from 2hi to 4hi its sounds like it is at about 6000 rpm's all the time i can start out in 3rd gear from 0 mph what is wrong
