put oil cap back on..every since then oil light is on

I have a 1997 ford f150....ran just fine until Friday.....i put 2 quarts of oil in and some gas...
forgot to put oil cap back on...drove 20 feet, remembered stopped put oil cap back on...but every since then the oil light is on, oil pressure gauge doesn't work and i have no acceleration and it hesitates to go into gear and drives real slow.....engine only has 90000 miles on it

Have you checked the oil level?

yes oil level is correct

The oil light showing is not a good sign. You need to have the oil pressure checked. If oil pressure drops, it can cause a lot of damage to the engine.

ok i am going to get a full service oil change today and have the fuel filter checked. i will have more questions im sure tomorrow

I don't know if this will work but have the computer reset for errors. All engine information goes into the computer and if had detected a oil pressure drop it will stay in the memory and effect the way the truck runs.
