I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L that wont start.i tryed starting it i had all my electrical power and everything but when i tryed starting it and my starter turned over once then everything shut off and i had hardley no power. I volt tested battery and it said 9.2 volts so i know its bad now then we tryed to jump it and it would turn over but no fire so we sprayed starter fluid and there was no fire so i pulled a plug wire and check for spark and had none. All fuses are good. And fuel pump can not be heard running now.

Start by charging the battery at a low rate for at least an hour. In the meantime check for blown fuses in the box under the hood and inside the truck. Sometimes they blow from a current surge when you connect jumper cables or a new battery.

if your not getting spark you should check your ignition coil. you should also get a fuel pressure gauge and check fuel pressure on the fuel rail should be atleast 35psi to 45psi if new coil and fule pressure doesnt fix then you need to start checking crank sensor and cam sensor to make sure they are working good haynes repair manuals from advance will help you checking thoses hope it helps
