Actually, I'm happily surprised to hear the headlamp housing was easy to remove. I was told at a Chrysler class many years ago that the '97 model was the first car totally designed by a computer, and the computer wasn't aware that light bulbs burn out and have to be replaced, so it didn't build in easy access to them. We were told the entire bumper cover had to be removed by two people to replace a bulb and it takes 1.2 hours. I'm happy to hear that isn't the case.

According to the service manual, you just need to remove the grille and turn signal housing to get to the bolts for the adapter. It doesn't say anything about removing the bumper cover.
