I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota that loose oil.

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota that loose oil pressusre and then it will comes back. Changed oil and fillter a coupl of times, it still comes and goes. Is there an answer for this problem.

Could be a clogged pick up screen or a bad oil pump.

Before assuming it is a true reading, have the oil pressure checked manually first.

Does the motor make noise while it goes to 0?

Ok, the problem is confirmed. I would start by dropping the oil pan and checking the pick up screen for blockage from sludge from the oil pan

I just checked for tsb or recalls and none although I have seen this before and it most commonly was the pick up screen.
