Lumina won't keep charge

Hey there! We're stuck scratching our heads on this one. We used to have an issue with the Lumina making a squealing noises while it idled. We read on your website about belt issues so we took it to a friend and figured out that it was the serpentine belt. The tension was completely off and was preventing the car's battery to charge. In any case, we got the car back with a a new belt that has now got a good amount of tension and also a different battery because the old one had drained.. and now it still won't hold the charge. So even with a new belt , a different battery (its a second hand battery) AND an alternator that has been changed only a year ago, our car won't start unless boosted. We haven't stalled yet in it but we've only managed to drive around with it for about 30 min at a time. Any suggestions for our next trip to the mechanics or any ways that we can test it ourselves?
