Oil pressure is low and goes to nearly zero at idle since getting head gasket replaced for coolant leak. Oil level also seems over full. What might suddenly cause low oil pressure?

Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and/or engine bearing.

Mechanical gauge confirmed the low oil pressure problem. Did an oil change, found lots of metal shavings stuck to the oil pan drain plug magnet. Engine was failing! Head gasket job was done poorly, any number of things were likely done wrong. Engine ended up being replaced with a reman. Lesson learned, no matter how involved, do the job myself and never let another shop touch one my vehicles.
