Chevy starter

How do you change the starter on a 1997 chevy blazer 4.6L 4 wheel drive?

disconnect your NEGATIVE battery cable so you don't short out the system. remove the 2 bolts that hold it on and disconncet all electrical connetcions on the starter. do the opposite to reinstall. make sure noen of your wires onteh starter are to close or contacting the engine block or associated parts. hook up the negative battery cable and see if it starts ok. You may have to reset your radio and other electronic things onthe car afterdisconnecting the battery. don't worry about the computer it will relearn everything very quick.

Disconnect the battery negative cable.
Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Remove the front tire and wheel assembly from the right side of the vehicle.
Remove the differential carrier shield mounting bolts, if equipped.
Remove the differential carrier shield, if equipped.
Remove the wires from the solenoid.
Remove the starter mounting bolts by accessing them below the right wheel house panel.
Remove the starter from the vehicle. Note the location of the shims, if equipped.

You have a 4.3 engine not 4.6 but this should help
