Buick Lesabre Thermostat Problem

Car is getting hot but not over heating and coolant is constantly running out. I suspect thermostat. Is that correct? How would I fix this? (i.e. where can I easily locate the thermostat?)

The upper radiator hose goes to thermostat housing. Drain the coolant down some. Take upper radiator hose loose from thermostat housing. Remove thermostat housing bolts, remove housing and thermostat.
