My battery light came on but it seems to dim.

My battery light came on but it seems to dim some when I push on gas also took battery terminal off while car was running and the car shut off.

It should and never, never do that again. It sends voltage spikes all over the place. It is not a test for anything

your alternator has a bad diode. The alternator needs to be replaced
